Like you said, it eases traffic all around, which could greatly reduce stress and for people who are working from home, they no longer have a commute and have just freed up X amount of time everyday. I really hope more companies follow Twitter's lead. That could lower traffic in Southern California since that is a major factor in traffic jams - people going to and from work.
